FAQ

Can we get eligible for teaching after completing a one-year LLM program?
There is just no difference between the one-year or two-year LL.M. program. All national Law schools run one-year programs and so does the one of most reputed Indian Law institutes. Certain universities still run 2-year LLM. After 2013, UGC LEFT it to universities which LL.M. they want to run. You are eligible for a PhD in both cases you are eligible for any such job which asks for LL.M. as a qualification.
Which one is considered a more valuable course, a 1-year LLM or a 2-year LLM course?
It depends on the perspective of an individual. The one-year integrated LLM is less time-consuming, and one saves an academic year than a 2-year LLM. The one year is at par with the 2-year course in terms of value and is very much recognized by UGC. On the contrary, if one wishes to gain deeper insight and knowledge and prepare well for Dissertation, I will advise a 2-year LLM course as there shall be ample time and scope to focus on research and your readings.
Is a One-year full-time LLM valid for NET/SET? From India?
One-year LLM candidates are eligible for the NET/SET exam. Eligibility for NET/SET is-Candidates who have completed a master's degree from a recognized university is eligible for the NET/ SET exam. General and OBC candidates hold 55%/50% above marks in master’s degrees. SC/ST candidates hold 50%/45% above in master’s degree.
